First Published 1788, this the second edition. 5½ x 8½" pp. xix + 599 +15 with 21 fold-out engravings. Also contains, "A Catalogue of Mathematical and Philosophical Instruments, made and sold by George Adams, Mathematical Instrument Maker to His Majesty, and Optician to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales." Externally poor in half-leather which is torn and rubbed with parts of the spine missing. Boards taped, but firmly attached and the book is firmly bound with all cords intact. By contrast the contents are very good: all pages are clean and bright with no stains or marks except for the fist 5 pages. All 21 plates are present bound at the rear of the book.
