Eli is an ordinary man who sees the world a little differently. A photographer by trade and a seeker at heart, he has spent years exploring the quiet spaces between stillness and awareness through meditation. One night, he discovers something he never expected - the ability to leave his body and travel beyond it.
At first, he moves through these out-of-body experiences with wonder, drifting through places both familiar and strange. But what begins as exploration soon becomes a calling. Eli learns he can sense those whose inner light has dimmed - the lost, the grieving, the ones who have forgotten hope - and sometimes, through gentle presence, help guide them back toward themselves.
Yet his gift is not always easy to carry. He cannot leave his body whenever he wishes. He cannot change others by force. And there are moments when the lines between light and shadow blur, when he must face the limits of his own faith and patience.
Through quiet acts of compassion and unseen connections, The Guiding Light follows Eli's journey through both the physical and spiritual worlds - and the small, luminous ways one life can touch another. Along the way, he meets people whose lives reflect the full range of human experience: a child who has lost his way, a woman trapped in grief, a young man burdened by shame, and others whose spirits flicker faintly in the dark.
Each encounter teaches Eli something new about presence, humility, and the delicate balance between helping and simply witnessing. He learns that true guidance is not about control or revelation, but about trust - in the quiet resilience of life, in timing, and in the light that already lives within every soul.
As his story unfolds, Eli must face his own doubts, his longing for understanding, and the reality that even light-bearers are sometimes called to walk through shadow. The line between the living and the spirit world begins to blur, drawing him deeper into the mystery that lies beneath all things: that love, attention, and compassion can ripple far beyond what the eye can see.
Told in calm, reflective prose, The Guiding Light is a meditative novel about awareness, patience, and the unseen threads that connect us all. It explores the simple but profound truth that illumination does not come from escaping the world, but from learning to see it - and one another - as we truly are.
Quiet, lyrical, and deeply human, this is a story for readers drawn to spiritual realism - for those who believe in grace without spectacle, in healing without heroism, and in the everyday miracles that unfold when we slow down enough to notice them.

Descripción de la tienda
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
