Artificial Intelligence in Information and Communication Technologies, Healthcare and Education : A Roadmap Ahead

This book is designed as a reference text and discusses inter-dependability, communication and effective control for the betterment of services through artificial intelligence, as well as the challenges and path ahead for AI in computing and control across different domains of business and human life.

Dr. Parikshit N. Mahalle is a senior member IEEE and is Professor and Head of Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune, India. He completed his Ph. D from Aalborg University, Denmark and continued as Post Doc Researcher at CMI, Copenhagen, Denmark. He has 23 + years of teaching and research experience. He is a member of the Board of Studies in Computer Engineering, Ex-Chairman Information Technology, SPPU and various Universities and autonomous colleges across India. He has 9 patents, 200+ research publications (Google Scholar citations-2250 plus, H index-22 and Scopus Citations are 1190 plus with H index -16) and authored/edited 42+ books with Springer, CRC Press, Cambridge University Press, etc. He is editor in chief for IGI Global –International Journal of Rough Sets and Data Analysis, Associate Editor for IGI Global - International Journal of Synthetic Emotions, Inter-science International Journal of Grid and Utility Computing, member-Editorial Review Board for IGI Global – International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence. His research interests are Machine Learning, Data Science, Algorithms, Internet of Things, Identity Management and Security. He is a recognized PhD guide of SSPU, Pune, and guiding 7 PhD students in the area of IoT and machine learning. Recently, FIVE students have successfully defended their PhD. He is also the recipient of "Best Faculty Award" by Sinhgad Institutes and Cognizant Technologies Solutions. He has delivered 200 plus lectures at national and international level. He is also the recipient of the best faculty award by Cognizant Technology Solutions.

Dr. Rajendra S. Talware completed his Doctoral studies from College of Engg. Pune (COEP) under Pune University, Pune in Electronics and Telecommunication (E&TC) Engg. He has varied experience encompassing industry, software consultancy, teaching and university administration. He is currently he is working as a Professor in E&TC and looks after research and development as Dean (Research) of Vishwakarma Institute of Info Technology, (VIIT) Pune. He is a member and Chartered Engineer from Institution of Engineers, India. He is recipient of various research grants from Defense Research and Development Organization, Konkan Railway, S. P. Pune University and Industry consultancy. He has Published 18 research communications in referred journal and International conferences. He has authored a book on broadband communication. He has filed and published 03 patents and 03 copyrights. He is invited as a member of Technical and Advisory Committee for various international conferences and symposiums and as resource person.Dr. Rajendra is associated with Industry and Universities in teaching and administrative capacities.

Dr. Ganesh Patil received Bachelors degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Pune and M.Tech degree from College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in 2002 and 2007 respectively. After M.Tech he completed Ph.D. in the area of Microelectronics and VLSI from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in Jan 2014. Dr. Patil Bagged Best Student Award at 4th International Student Workshop on Electrical Engineering, at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, and also received Cash Award (Rs 20,000/-) twice by IIT Kanpur for publishing the papers in reputed journals. He is reviewer of various SCI listed journals and also worked as Technical Program Chair for various IEEE international conferences. The area of his research work is Device Physics and Modeling, Novel Nanoscale MOSFETs, Analog/Digital CMOS circuits, VLSI System Design and organic electronics. Dr. Patil has published several research papers in various reputed journals and more than 30 research papers in peer reviewed international conferences held at USA, Japan, Egypt, Singapore, India and China. He is having total teaching experience of 18 years and currently working as an Associate Professor at Center for VLSI and Nanotechnology at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur.

Prof. Sachin R. Sakhare has obtained his doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering in 2014. He has 25 Years of experience and currently he is working as a Professor in Computer Engineering at VIIT, Pune, India. He is a member of Computer Society of India and ISTE. He has availed the research workshop grants from BCUD, Pune University. He has Published 32 research communications in web of Science and Scopus indexed journals and presented papers in national and international conferences, He has 200 citations and H-index 4. He has authored 4 books. He has filed and published 4 patents and 03 copyrights. He is and currently guiding 4 PhD scholars at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He worked as a reviewer of Applied Soft Computing journal from Elsevier, The journal of Soft Computing from Springer, IEEE-ICCUBEA-2018 and 2019. IEEE-INDICON, Springer and ACM conferences. Dr. Sachin has Delivered invited talks at various Conferences, FDP’s and STTP’s as well as to PG students. Dr. Sachin is associated with international universities including Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), Netherlands, Aalborg University, Copenhagen, Denmark and RWTH Aachen university, Germany for academic collaboration and content delivery on specialized fields.

Dr. Yogesh H. Dandawate received his Bachelor of Engineering from University of Pune (India) in 1991, Masters of Engineering from Gulbarga University (India) in 1998 and PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in 2009 University of Pune (India). Presently he is working as Professor in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Department at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune. He has 30 years of teaching experience and has published more than 102 papers in reputed National and International Conferences/ referred Journals and one copyright . He has worked on several research projects funded by BCUD, RPS (AICTE), Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission, Maharashtra Government. He has authored two books namely Microcontroller Techniques and Image and Video Compression: Techniques and Fundamentals published by renowned CRC press. One book chapter in "Computer Vision and recognition systems using Machine and Deep Learning " Published by IET (UK) .He has 3 patents granted, 2 patents published and one copyright granted on his account. He his editorial board member of 2 reputed Indian Journals and reviewer of 10 Journals Published by IET(UK),Elsevier and Springer. His areas of interests are Computer vision and Deep Machine learning, Signal and Image processing, Embedded Systems and Pattern recognition. He is senior member of IEEE, and Fellow member of IETE, India. He has served as Treasurer, Secretary of IEEE Pune Section and IEEE Signal Processing Pune Chapter and Presently member of Executive Committee of IEEE Pune Section and IETE , Pune Chapter. He was Chairman, Board of Studies, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Technology, Savitribai Phule Pune University and currently Member Board of Studies, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Government College of Engineering, Pune and Karad. He is invited Board of Studies Member in Electronics at Bharati Vidyapeeth ,Solapur University and Symbiosis International University.

Dr. Pravin R. Futane is obtained his Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering from Amravati University. He is currently associated with VIIT, Pune as a Professor in Computer Engg and heading department of Information Technology. IN his 24 years of experience, majority in teaching with some industry experience and expertise. He reviewed and examined scholars for Ph.D thesis. His research interest domain is Sign Language, Artificial Intelligence, Computer and Databases. He has published more than 63 research papers in International Journals (31 papers) and Conferences (32 papers). His Google scholar paper citation is 126, h-Index is 5 and i10 index is 5. He is a member of many professional bodies viz ISTE, IAMG and ISC. He has also received a research grant or QIP funding for around three programmes. He has played a role in various capacity as reviewer, session chair, invited talk, editorial board member and organization of conferences supported by funding organizations. He did filed three patents and received one Australian patent granted to his credit.
