Two pages, folio, bifolium (second leaf blank apart from a summary of the document), small closed tears on fold marks, mainly good condition. Witness signature indecipherable. Richmond wishes to peddle ice in Woburn, Mass. and surrounding towns. The Articles of Agreement include: enough ice supplied for the purpose; provision of a horse and waggon; Richmond guaranteeing to spend "his whole time" to peddling ice during the season; which ice to take for the houses, and the state the houses are to be left in; Richmond undertakes to collect the money from sales and give a true account; Richmond to pay expenses arising from keeping and shoeing the horse and repairing the waggon for which Richmond will also pay $50 for the season; Richmond will divide proceeds with Draper over and above expenses; Richmond will give up the ice peddling business at the end of the season unless given permission in writing by Draper under penalty of $500. Note: Homans says that , in 1847, 4000 tonnes of ice was stored at Horn Pond, Woburn, ice houses in his "Sketches of Boston". N° de ref. de la librería 9067
