She points at the cow. She looks up at you. She waits.
Then one night, before you can say it, a tiny voice goes "MOO!" and you realize she has been listening this whole time.
Around the Farm is a full color illustrated farm animals book for babies and toddlers. Thirty animal friends live in these pages, and every one of them gets two pages side by side: a big bright picture with its sound on the left, and a bedtime story on the right where that animal helps a friend in trouble.
What is inside
- 30 farm animals in full color illustration, one big friendly face per page
- All 30 animals inside: cow, calf, pig, piglet, sheep, lamb, goat, horse, foal, pony, donkey, hen, chick, rooster, turkey, duck, duckling, goose, dog, cat, mouse, rabbit, owl, swallow, frog, bee, butterfly, ladybug, snail and llama
- A "Say it with me!" game on every animal page, so your little one copies the sound with their whole body
- 30 bedtime stories where the animal is the hero: Henrietta shelters her eggs from the rain, tiny Milo rescues the farmer's lost keys, Sam the snail finds what nobody else could
- A "Did you know?" fact and a "Let's play!" idea on every story page
- A guessing game, a sound quiz, a find-it page and a place to draw a favourite animal
- A gift page inside the cover: this book was given to ____ by ____
Why parents keep reaching for it
- No batteries, nothing to break, nothing to lose
- Your toddler learns animal names and sounds by copying you, not by pressing plastic buttons
- Twenty minutes on the sofa together: the same layout on every page means they know what comes next, and predictability is what makes little ones join in
- It grows with them: at one they point, at two they shout the sound before you read it, at three they follow the whole story
- Every story ends with everyone safe and asleep, so it works at bedtime instead of winding them up
If you are buying this as a gift
- A first birthday present for a boy or a girl that lasts longer than the wrapping paper
- Grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents and friends: there is a page inside to write your name in
- Works for baby showers, second birthdays, Christmas stockings and new baby gifts
- Nursery, daycare and story time reading, in any home anywhere in the world
- A book they will still ask for when they are three, and still recognize when they are ten
Tonight, open to the very first animal. Make the silliest rooster sound you can. Watch their whole face light up.
That noise they make back at you is the beginning of talking, and you get to be there for it.
Around the Farm is waiting.
