1917. No Edition Remarks. 368 pages. No dust jacket. Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Contains fold-out diagram pages. Page before Chapter I is missing. Pages are lightly tanned with moderate foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Pencil inscription and retail sticker to front paste-down and front free endpaper, with grey rubbing and a few small nicks along text block edge. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Minor dog-eared corners. Notable cracking to gutter of title page and page 276 with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Fold-out pages are lightly tanned and moderately foxed, with folding to edges. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with slight bumping and fraying to corners, and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a mild forward lean. Water drop on front board. Gilt lettering is fairly bright and clear.
