Descripción del artículo del vendedor

Print on Demand. This seminal work of 17th-century theology, history, and sociology, concerns itself with a religious controversy of the time: the perceived departure of the English Church from "true Catholic" practice. Published in 1612 by noted French scholar Isaac Casaubon, the book's central message is that the Church of England of his time was in fact the truest follower of Catholicism, preserving the values of the ancient tradition. From a perspective of the early 17th century, the book examines how the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church strayed from early Christianity, and how the English Reformation represented a return to the original, uncorrupted form of Christian faith and practice. The author takes a scholarly and historical approach, arguing that the Catholic Church had made unwarranted innovations to the original Christian tradition. Casaubon refutes the accusations of heresy leveled against the English Church, maintaining that it was, in fact, the Roman Catholic Church that had departed from the true path. Casaubon's arguments focus on the idea of "Catholicity", understood as adherence to the practices of the early Church. He argues that the Church of England, by adhering more closely to the practices of the early Church, was more truly Catholic than the Roman Catholic Church, and therefore closer to the ideals of Christianity. This book, born from religious turmoil, offers a fascinating examination of the nature of the Christian Church, and the history of Christian thought. Although not a modern historical work, it provides a unique and valuable perspective on the religious controversies of the era. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
