Paperback. "All About Amos 'N' Andy and Their Creators Correll & Gosden" provides an essential look at the early history of American radio through the lens of its first true mass-media sensation. Written at the height of the program's popularity, this work chronicles the lives and careers of Charles Correll and Freeman Gosden, the performers and writers behind the voices of the iconic characters Amos and Andy. From their beginnings in vaudeville to the inner workings of the broadcasting studio, the text offers a detailed exploration of how the show was conceived, developed, and produced.Readers will find a wealth of information regarding the duo's creative process, including how they managed multiple roles and pioneered the serialized storytelling format that would influence decades of broadcast entertainment. The book serves as both a biography of the creators and a historical record of a transformative era in 20th-century media. As a primary source from 1929, it captures the massive cultural impact of a series that once brought the United States to a virtual standstill during its nightly broadcast window. This volume is a vital resource for those interested in the history of radio, the evolution of character-driven comedy, and the pioneers of early electronic mass communication. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
