Acerca del autor
Bhakti Mathur lives in Hong Kong with her husband, their two sons, and two dogs. After a long stint as a banker, she now juggles her time between writing, teaching yoga, executive coaching and bibliotherapy.
Bhakti is a children’s book author with 21 published titles to date. She started the ‘Amma Tell Me’ Series in 2011 as a means to share with her children, the stories from Hindu mythology that had mesmerised her as a child. Written in rhyme and vividly illustrated, the series endeavours to keep the tradition of oral storytelling alive and create a special moment between a parent and child. Bhakti is also the author of the ‘Amma Take Me’ Series (published by Penguin Random House, India).
Bhakti is also a freelance journalist and chronicles inspirational people and their journeys through life, health and fitness for the South China Morning Post. When not writing or running after her teenagers, Bhakti is happiest curled up with a book in one hand and a hot cup of chai in the other.

Bhakti Mathur's love for books started at a very young age. Her mother was a librarian, and as a child she ended up spending many hours in the library. Work brought Bhakti and her husband to Hong Kong in 2001 and coming from the hustle and bustle of Delhi and Mumbai, they settled in immediately and the city is now truly home. The idea for the Amma, Tell Me series came as a way to introduce her older son, Shiv, to Indian mythology and festivals. The name Klaka came from Shiv himself—he came back home from school one day and announced that "Shiv" didn’t cut it and he should be henceforth be addressed only as Klaka! She started her career as an investment banker. After a couple of other roles in the finance world, she ended up as a private banker, and now currently works for a major Asian bank.
