In the 22nd century, humanity has learned that reality is layered. But the discovery has not made the world wiser. It has only made children more dangerous to adults who want answers.
After the Barcelona hinge event, Earth, Mars, Luna, and the orbital settlements begin reporting strange incidents among children. Some dream of rain that rises from the ground. Some draw symbols no adult has seen before. Some hear two songs. One belongs to home. The other belongs to an archive of failed worlds.
At the center of the mystery is Amihan Velez, the child born after the hinge. To scientists, she may be the key to understanding the second song. To political leaders, she is a security concern. To religious movements, she is a sacred listener. To the frightened and grieving, she may be the doorway to what was lost.
But to her mother, Lysa, she is not a symbol. She is not a prophecy. She is a child.
As pilgrims gather, laws tighten, researchers ask for access, and the planetary AI Zola struggles to understand consent, Barcelona, Sorsogon must defend a simple rule against the hunger of the world:
No child becomes a prophecy.
Amihan and the Second Song is a philosophical science fiction novel about family, memory, consent, faith, artificial intelligence, grief, and the dangerous beauty of listening. It asks one urgent question: when humanity hears beyond the boundary of reality, can it protect the children who hear first?
