The following are some of the chapter titles: "Exposition of the Technical Terms Used by Ornithologists," "Sensation in Feathers," "Sporting Terms," "Art of Shooting on the Wing," "The Partridge. Following these chapters (and a few more) are brief sections about different hunting techniques such as point-shooting and implements such as dugouts and boxes, more game birds such as ducks and geese, hunting rabbits and squirrels, miscellaneous advice about game shooting, ordering guns, proving and staining barrels, wire-twist and charcoal iron, wood for stocking, cooking game birds and rabbits (a few brief recipes for sauces and garnishes included), taxidermy hints (including advice for how to preserve bird eggs and bird carcasses), and advice for hygiene while in the field (including a few treatments for common injuries or wounds).
