Saxton, Barker & Co., New York, 1860, 322 pp, original blind cloth with portraits of different farm animals, 8 x 5 , 8vo. In good condition. Nicely preserved. Light wear to extremities with minor scuffing to corners and end bands. Lightly chipped spine ends from shelf wear. Spine and edges are slightly faded from time. Animals and floral embellishment embossed onto boards. Circlets of a horse, a steer, a ram and a pig flank the outer corners. A rooster and chicken embellish the bottom. Bales of hay and farming equipment are pictures too. Grapes, squash, fruits and a pumpkin decorate the borders. Very nice. Owner s name stamp on end papers and top margins of a half-dozen pages throughout the text. Light toning throughout with minor instances of foxing. Some age staining particularly to title.
