Book condition: good, very scarce second edition in full leather binding, consists of three "addresses" the first of which discusses the necessity of mental improvement in women, their happiness in the marriage state and the superior obligation of Christians, the second address suggests a course of reading with topics such as grammar, logic, geography, polite literature and more, the last address offers general directions to young ladies for the conduct of life, boards feature gilt band around both perimeters, top edges well scuffed, top corners bumped, one inch split to top left front spine edge, one inch scuff to back finish, gilt trim on spine scuffed with what may have been title missing, slight bow to front board, decorative paper on pastedowns and endpapers with scuffing to top edges of all four, small section of ffep missing, light to moderate foxing to blank endpapers, three letters in pencil at top of two front endpapers, slight foxing to a few margins, overall interior very clean, binding tight, slight musty odor, 125 pages, 5 X 7.25 inches.
