Suicide is a complex human behaviour that remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Although suicidal behaviour continues to perplex clinicians and scholars, there have been recent advances with regard to the research related to the understanding, assessment, and biopsychosocial treatment of suicidal individuals, as well as the prevention of suicidal behaviour.
