With a central theme of love and adventure, this picture book is ideal for 3rd-5th graders who are trying to find their place in a big world. A rhyming, lyrical style makes it well-suited as a read-together book or a fun read-alone book. This book makes an outstanding gift for 8+-year-old girls, though enjoyed by people of all ages, including delayed readers as well as adult readers looking for a simple, enjoyable read. The flow makes it easy to follow and understand by those who struggle with dyslexia and reading comprehension, even those who never considered themselves to be a "strong reader".
If you are looking for a girl gift, an inspirational book, a book about friendship, or just a wholesome bedtime story book with a great message, Nel Adora And The Swamp Witch is a great choice to add to the family bookshelf. It has been compared to Dr. Suess's "Oh The Places You'll Go!" regarding suitability as a 5th-grade graduation gift!
Note From The Author, Emily R. Baker: I am a lifelong reader and lover of books, and am so excited to share this story with you! Every girl feels lonely sometimes, like they are trying to find their place in the world, and that all they need is a friend who understands. A little magic never hurts, either. The words in this book are the ones I want to say to my nieces and all the young girls in my life. You are loved, you are special, and you can do ANYTHING. I will always be here for you. And remember, "There is one thing that will always be true- that when I think of love, I'll think of you."
Many, many people have supported my love of books, reading, and writing throughout my life. However, I want to give a special thanks to my husband, Christopher Baker, and to my son Calvin, for all of their love and support. Also, to Anne C. Jacob of Popin Edits who provided outstanding notes, feedback, advice and edits, and Josh Tufts who created artwork that is simply breathtaking and mindblowing. I couldn't have dreamed of a better support network to assist with the creation of this book.
About the Artist, Josh Tufts: Professional designer and Illustrator, Josh Tufts is a commercial artist living in Ohio. Notable clientele include FX, Elevate Pictures, Llewellyn Worldwide Publishing, Delta Airlines, and General Motors, each of which he has created meaningful and definitive content for, helping to bolster each brand’s ambitions, connecting with their audience, and expanding their global horizons.
His work has merited inclusion into Spectrum 25 The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, as well as being featured in the 2018 Spring Gallery by the Ohio Art League. When Josh is not working, you will find him composing music, baking, and spoiling his dog.
Final Note: A lot of love has gone into the creation of this children's book. I truly hope that your family enjoys it, and that it becomes a favorite bedtime story in your home. I want little voices everywhere to say, "Mommy, can we please read the Swamp Witch?" And I want those little readers to fall asleep to words of love, adventure, and positive thoughts and affirmations.
We need every child to believe that "With knowledge, patience, and the right toolbox, you can change the whole world, really knock off their socks!" Because when they believe they can, they will.

Descripción de la tienda
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
