Acts of Peter and Simon provides a thrilling modern exploration into one of the most action-packed and wildly imaginative apocryphal texts of early Christianity. Long circulating in the early church as a beloved spiritual adventure, this ancient narrative details the legendary, high-stakes duel between the Apostle Peter and Simon Magus, the charismatic arch-heretic who first appeared briefly in the canonical Book of Acts.

The story takes place in the heart of the Roman Empire, where Simon Magus has arrived, using spectacular dark magic and illusions to convince the populace-and even Emperor Nero-that he is a divine being. Summoned to Rome, Peter must engage in a series of public, miraculous contests to expose Simon's sorcery and prove the supremacy of the Christian God. From commanding a dog to speak, to reviving a smoked fish, and ultimately challenging Simon's attempt to fly into heaven, the narrative is an astonishing blend of profound theology and Greco-Roman magical lore.

Far more than just an ancient fantasy, this text delves into profound themes of true faith versus deception, the seductive power of spectacle, and the ultimate triumph of authentic divine grace over manipulative sorcery.
