The Book of Acts in the New Testament tells the story of the earliest days of the new Church, after the death and resurrection of Jesus. Luke, the author of the Gospel by that name, pens this second volume to continue the story of the first Christians. It is a remarkable book that spans 30 years and tells us most of what we know about the early Apostles and their exploits. We especially get the stories of Simon-Peter and the Apostle Paul.
Jim Reiher re-tells the story of Acts in 60 short devotional reflections. He works through the book of Acts, stopping here and there in each chapter, and pausing... and he reflects on the story, or a saying, or a phrase in the text. Jim has a knack for finding remarkably relevant moments in the story. These stories happened 2000 years ago, and yet there are lessons in them, reflections in them, that speak to our times. That speak to our day and age.
There are stories where people of one religion stand up for and defend people from another religion; there are stories where people are facing grave injustice, and we see how they respond; there are stories where people help the poor; stand up for the oppressed; accept less than fair situations for the sake of a greater cause... all that and more.
Jim Reiher will challenge you, stretch you, bless you, and make you uncomfortable, at different times throughout the studies. He does not shy from asking hard questions to the church today. His devotional commentary will take you further in your own life journey.
This book is a wonderful tool for personal devotion, and reflection, and it can also be used for small groups as they study the book of Acts together.

Acerca del autor
Jim Reiher lives in Melbourne Australia. He has four adult children and lots of grandchildren. Jim writes both fiction and non-fiction.
Regarding most of his non-fiction, Jim's serious side comes out, although sometimes he writes his non-fiction with humor, too ('Confessions of a Christian Magician' is a good example of that). Jim is a respected Australian Biblical scholar, with a MA in Theology with Honors, and 13 years of full time lecturing in Bible Colleges. Jim has published a number of books on topics ranging from Tarot Cards, to the Equality of Women in the Church, to how politics works in Australia. He has also written a number of commentaries on different New Testament books and letters: the Epistle of James, the Book of Acts, and most recently the Gospel of Mark.
Jim enjoys a nice quiet walk in 'the middle of no where'; a good movie; a good book; playing ten-pin bowling; writing; and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.
Our team will provide full instructions on how to return your order and once received our returns department will process your refund.
Please note the cost to return any unwanted order to us is borne by the buyer.
Should your order arrive damaged, not as advertised or faulty, we must be advised of this within 14 days of delivery. Please contact us so we can find the best solution for you.

Efectos del desistimiento

Excepciones al derecho de desistimiento
