Above All is an extensive exploration and expansion of the themes found in Psalm 22. This psalm delves into the deep connection Christ had with God at his birth, the apparent betrayal he experienced during his earthly mission, and the glorious outcomes that arise from his suffering. The author skillfully combines references from both the Old Testament and New Testament along with her creative imagination to craft a narrative about God’s loving purpose for humanity, the plan for redemption from the fall, and, above all, the fulfillment of that redemption.

Above All also offers insights into the reasons behind the wicked and terrible events that occur daily in the world and provides an explanation for why God does not always intervene. The story commences by imagining the thoughts of Jesus while he is on the cross at Calvary, and it places the reader in the role of a spectator, allowing them to witness what Jesus perceives, experiences, and does, starting from his time in the Garden of Gethsemane to the following three days after his crucifixion.

"Above All: A Special Meditation and Reflection on Psalm 22" is a brilliant novel that fuses scripture in the Old and New Testament and presents a story of purpose and redemption for man. "Above All: A Special Meditation and Reflection on Psalm 22" is the creation of published author Susan L. Bailey, MD, a physician practicing internal medicine in Rochester, New York.

After 36 years of practicing full-time, she has retired from the hospital and sees a small number of patients in her private practice. Her favorite pastimes are traveling, sewing vintage clothing, watching sermons on YouTube, and enjoying time with friends and family in her lakeside home. She attends church service regularly on Sundays and enjoys discussing the Word of God with people from many walks of life and on many levels. She is comfortable explaining the biblical text to those who don’t know the character of God or who Jesus is, and she is energized by discussions with seasoned religious leaders alike. She especially likes to help new believers learn how to trust the Word of God to become relevant for use in their personal journeys by relying on the counselor Jesus refers to in the book of John.
