A doom looms over Mjorn and there is naught that can be done to stop it. Finally recovering from the Yhournish War fifteen years prior, the people of the Kingdom of Nar live in a tumultuous peace. They are spared violence, but they are taxed and tithed to empty pockets. Which death is worse: the one with sword in hand, or the one without food in the belly? And what if that peace was a lie?
Althalos, a boy from the humble and impoverished village of Dorthu, lives a simple life of tending to his chickens and aiding his mother until everything is stripped from him: his friends and mother are killed, and his village is burnt to the ground. When he discovers that the King is behind the massacre, he begins a quest of justice that will change the Kingdom of Nar forever.
Clasp of the King is the first installment of A Will Forsaken and it is a story of several characters living through a time of tragic political, economic, and religious tyranny.
