When a family camping trip goes very wrong, two kids discover they might be the only hope for an entire magical world.
Max and Avery Champion are just trying to survive twisty mountain roads, bad dad jokes, and a weekend in the woods. But when a mysterious blast of colorful light slams into their SUV, everything changes. The sky looks wrong. The forest feels different. And before they can figure out what happened, a massive two headed dragon swoops out of the night, melts their car, and carries their dad away.
Their search for him leads them into Bellhallow, a land with twin suns, three moons, and a long history of dragons, wizards, and wild magic. There they meet Chippy, a fast talking squirrel, and Witherbee the Wise Wolf, the once mighty guardian of Bellhallow. He reveals that, long ago, he shattered the Heart of Bellhallow, a powerful gemstone that kept the world in balance, to keep it from falling into the claws of Valcor, the darkest dragon of all. Now the land is slipping back into chaos, and Valcor has their father.
To save their father and Bellhallow, Max and Avery must track down the five elemental stones that once formed the Heart. Armed with a mysterious journal, a newly forged blade, a magic wand, and more courage than they realize, the siblings face deadly trials, strange creatures, and dragons who will do anything to stop them. Along the way, they will have to face their fears, trust each other, and decide what kind of heroes they want to be.
