Porkington Hamm and the Haunted House (Porkington's World) - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

A restless spirit. A missing pet. A mystery only Porkington can solve.

Mugsy’s Café is closed. Anthony lies near death after a terrible accident.

Desperate for relief from sorrow and uncertainty, Porkington escapes to the Weaver House, a peaceful country inn on the shores of Mourning Dove Lake.

But the Weaver House is not as peaceful as it seems. A ghostly presence lingers at the inn, and a portrait in the parlor holds a clue.

Long dead, Mildred Weaver cannot find peace until the fate of her beloved pet is known. Porkington wants to help, but how can he track down a dog that died decades ago, in a place he’s never been?

As Porkington seeks to uncover the whereabouts of the lost dog, he wrestles with the biggest questions of all. What happens when we die? And how do we go on living when someone we love is gone forever?

A perfect middle-grade book for fall, spooky, but hopeful.
