Sinopsis

The Ford family—Marica, Will, and their two young daughters—live in a beautiful present in Seattle, Washington. This is on account of a well-established rule—the past does not exist in their household. Not a word about Marica’s childhood in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, nor about what Will lived through in the Troubles of Northern Ireland. Of course, there is a slip-up or a nightmare here and there, but they are never acknowledged. Their crosses are their own to bear separately, because, of course, there is no other way for the likes of Marica and Will to make sure that their children grow up in a normal, happy, loving American family.

But when a suitcase with a bloody shirt inside arrives, followed by a letter from Belfast, the past spews out.

Can Marcia and Will overcome their feelings of betrayal? Can they save their marriage and their family? Can they ensure that their daughters have what the two of them did not—stable childhoods?

Threads and Tethers is a love story.
