When the rotting, sick corpses known as the Grays began to walk the earth after a mysterious illness, people were torn apart and forced into hiding. The world humanity once knew had begun to rot with the monsters that lurked among it. With people scarce and on the verge of extinction, survival had become a top priority.

Melony Harper and Jonas Carrera were childhood best friends and high school sweethearts since before the rot took over. Melony’s overwhelming fear and Jonas’s hope along with their love for each other are the only threads that keep them hanging on as they push through the apocalyptic nightmare they now live. Journey after journey and struggle after struggle has become a routine Melony has grown sick and tired of. They must start to search for something more than surviving—true living.

It’s been two years since the world ended, and the couple are on the move for life after destruction when they meet Nolan Greene, a southern stranger who knows more about the Grays than Melony and Jonas could ever expect.
