Shequitta Kelly Joubert, born in Michigan City, Indiana is the presiding judge of County Criminal Court #11 In Dallas, Texas. Despite growing up without role models in the legal profession, she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer. Inspired by a colleague, she eventually ran for judge and successfully won the position. Judge Kelly's journey is marked by a commitment to breaking barriers and providing representation for young girls who might otherwise limit their aspirations due to a lack of role models. This commitment led her to create the persona "Jade the Judge," through which she aims to inspire and empower young girls to pursue their dreams without being hindered by societal expectations or the absence of visible role models. Her story underscores the importance of representation in leadership roles and the profound impact it can have on empowering future generations.
