Osuba is a visual artist, cultural producer and storyteller. He loves to share memories and stories of his beloved Puerto Rico. During his childhood he lived in "La Mineral" neighborhood in Mayagüez Puerto Rico and has many fond memories of that time. He says they are his best childhood memories.A lover of food and sharing cultural stories, he often finds that the best way to introduce someone to his culture is through their stomachs. As the saying goes, "Full belly, happy heart". In the summer months, Rafael "El Quijote" becomes "El Piragüero" and loves to introduce visitors to the NC State Fairgrounds, to his Icy Puerto Rican treats. (Limbers, Piraguas and Tropical Ice)A tasty way to share his culture, raise funds for his literary events and help with the expenses of giving books to the children each year.He even transformed a Japanese mini truck "El Pichirilo" into his modern Piraguas cart. Wepa! He is the founder and director of the El Quijote Festival (2015), an annual seven-month statewide collaborative festival that commemorates the Spanish writer and literary giant Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra and the 400 years of "Don Quixote", two books that changed his life.He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife of over 30 years, Michelle.

Cartoonist, playwright, theater director and actor.He was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1960. He graduated in Nautical Sciences in 1980 and spent four years sailing in the Merchant Navy as a pilot, leading an itinerant life that took him around half the world. Starting in 1990 he began to develop a new professional life in the world of theater and comics. Passionate about history since he was a child, both Spanish and international, he uses this as a basis for most of his work, both in the world of comics and theater. Stories of towns, places and events, biographies of historical figures, adaptations of literary classics, fictions of a historical setting...History becomes the clay with which he models most of his comic and theatrical work.In 1995 he founded Estudio la Recua S.L., a company specialized in historical dissemination through the artistic medium.After a few years working as an actor in various companies, he began writing and directing historical theater. To date, he has staged and performed around twenty of his works in different locations throughout the national territory. In the world of publications: comics and books, he has published more than sixty titles for public institutions and publishers.
