An Urban Fantasy
From beyond your senses, they watch. And wait.
Sean Curley is a modestly successful Broadway actor, living his dream on stage while navigating New York City. On the closing night of his latest show, a series of events plunges him into a world of intrigue and danger, where he encounters beings who had lived on the edges of his life since he was a child.
While he struggles to make sense of the unfolding mysteries, his friends and fellow actors find themselves drawn into the real-life drama as one of their own disappears under mysterious circumstances. This group of performers—misfits all—must step center stage in this real life drama where the stakes are greater than anything they've experienced on stage.
Folklore and mythology come to life, and the friends find themselves questioning their reality and how they fit into it.
Joined by a team of figures from mythology and the depths of history, the unlikely troop sets out on a mission to save the missing friend and also to wrestle for the future— both ordinary and otherworldly.
Their journeys reveal the world as far more colorful and magical than they had ever imagined. Unfortunately, what they discover contains dangers they may not be equipped to confront. Let alone defeat.

Mark Aldrich has been an actor on stage, screen, and audiobook for over 20 years. He was born in Massachusetts, but raised primarily in Virginia, yet somehow still considers himself a northerner. He has appeared on Broadway and many of the world's most famous stages, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. His favorite performances, however, were given late at night in village pubs on the west coast of Ireland singing along with traditional musicians.Mark has written extensively for periodicals, industry journals, and web publications. After telling others' stories on stage for so long, he decided to commit some of his pwn to the page. The Peripherals marks his debut novel (book two in the series, Red Sky, is also available). His writing combines his love of history, travel, folklore, music, and his longstanding knowledge of live theatre and the artists who work there.
