Persuading Papa - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

The heartwarming story of ten-year-old Leona and her struggle to rebuild her broken family. Leona’s overindulgent mother protects her from her strict father and his disciplinary demands. But when Mama becomes ill, Leona has to learn for herself how to build a relationship with her father. How can she gain his trust? How can she convince him that Mrs. Sharpe is unkind to her? And what can she do to persuade Papa that they need to live together as a family? Set in the early 1900s when automobiles traveled the same roads as horses and buggies and when ladies wore full length gowns to ride on log flumes at amusement parks. Leona’s adventures include train travel, water parks, mean girls, and family fights. Along the way she learns to work and to forgive. This is historical fiction that makes middle-aged women nostalgic for the “good old days” and entertains young girls with stories of frenemies and adventure.
