Shortly after the unexpected death of the inventor of the crystal, Thomas MacCutcheon watched as his bedroom window was pried open by a burglar, and after carefully examining the room, the burglar climbed in and immediately started to search the apartment for anything he could sell. Finding nothing of worth, the burglar returned to the room he had just entered, and much to his shock, he caught sight of the skeleton of Thomas MacCutcheon on the bed and then found the watch that used to be on the wrist of the skeleton. When the burglar picked up the watch, he became very dizzy and almost passed out. Once the dizziness stopped, he stood back up, closely examined the watch, and put it on his wrist. Hearing someone forcibly clearing their throat, the burglar quickly turned toward the noise and saw Thomas MacCutcheon standing nearby. The burglar dove out the window in attempt to escape but found that he couldn't. The burglar soon became acquainted with the ghost of Thomas MacCutcheon and soon was involved in many adventures involving the crystal hidden in the wristwatch the burglar was wearing.
