Kate J. Gillmore (October 18, 1978- September 22, 2023) was a devoted educator whose heart beat for the children. Kate had always found her purpose in children. She was the teacher who wore her ID badge with a handwritten "By Ms.K8," a playful touch that made her instantly approachable. She sat crisscross applesauce on the floor, meeting her students at eye level to make it easier to connect. She was the one who could coax a smile from the shyest child, the one who believed every struggling reader had a story worth telling.
