Sinopsis

The Church does not arrive as a proposition. She arrives as a Mother.

In these meditations on beautiful images of Our Lady, Father Michael Rennier seeks not a theology to define but a poetic fascination with maternal mystery. Mary is revelatory, her humble Motherhood unfolding truths of endless depth—and every mother shares in her spiritual motherhood.

Just as Dante beheld Heaven in the eyes of Beatrice, Heaven is reflected in the eyes of our mothers. In loving us, they are looking directly at Jesus. The everyday mother, raising her children and making a home, is covered in the mantle of Our Lady—her humble work is God's chosen way to bring grace to birth in the world.

Motherhood: A Poetics of Our Lady is for all who want to deepen their relationship with Mary; and is an especially uplifting and inspiring read for mothers, highlighting the beauty of their vocation even when it is not recognized by the world.
