In recent years, college graduates have been entering into a tough job market. As the jobless rate concern continues to exist, college graduates have been participating in a competitive race for available jobs. Upon entering into the workforce, it is expected for Political Science students to have knowledge of basic job skills and workplace ethical practices such as parliamentary procedure. Political Science graduates have the reputation of being society’s future lawyers, politicians, and CEO’s. Therefore, it is evident that they must be readily equipped to thrive in the political job sector. This review of literature represents a scholarly interpretation of the significance that job training and business ethics related teachings hold within the area of student development. This thesis in its entirety is an examination of the presence of professional etiquette content by way of business ethics and workforce development training within the political science curriculum of an HBCU. This thesis’ full intent is to measure college student professional development levels to carefully determine the significance of the implementation of workforce development training within university curriculums.
