What happens to your data when you die?

Luke is struggling to launch his social media app. Investors want to see users before backing it, but targeting those users will require some proper investment.

Julie, an aspiring writer, inadvertently deals with his dilemma by describing the plot of her favourite novel, Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol. Inspired, Luke embarks on his own diabolical strategy of passing off dead people as users, triggering a dramatic sequence of events told from the perspective of ten different characters.

Throughout the course of this raucous novel, we see that people are always complex, never as straightforward as contemporary society and the tech titans who dominate it are so eager to have us believe.
