Scout is in a shelter with many other dogs he doesn’t know. He is hoping his caretaker will come to bring him back Home while he contemplates escaping to find Him. Scout describes his idyllic life with Him, and the circumstances that led to this situation. His unique understanding of Time and language add complexity to the narrative while his philosophical observations about relationships, love and nature touch the heart.

Like all dogs, Scout is funny, loyal, and optimistic. He’s also afraid of the moon. Mostly, he wants to be good. And he wants to go back Home. Whether they have dogs or not, every reader will fall in love with Scout and want to rescue him.
