Reader's review:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well-written and easy to understand. We've all got to begin at the beginning. It can be terrible when we need to let go of our kids if we haven't gradually trained them to make their own decisions leading up to the day they leave for college. This book offers comfort for teens and young adults to get decision-making and problem-solving right.
Decision-making is one of the most important executive functioning skills directly connected to self-confidence, motivation, leadership, happiness, and success. Independent and responsible decision-making is what differentiates a child from an adult. That’s why this skill is so crucial to gain early on.
The choices you make between your 13 and 23 years are the building blocks on your path to maturity. It is when your brain adapts to act independently, creating unique mechanisms that will serve you throughout your life. In adulthood, each day brings new challenges, problems that need to be solved, and decisions that need to be made. So, how can you ensure now that you’re making the right steps to prepare yourself for the future?
No one is born with the ability to make awesome decisions all the time or with amazing problem-solving abilities. They’re skills – not natural talents. The good news is that skills can be learned and adopted.
Decide and Solve will help you face your choices head-on and make decisions confidently. Inside, you will discover:
You will understand why the adolescent brain approaches decisions differently from adults.
You will be empowered to deal with outside pressure to ensure your decisions are your own.
You will know what to do when others don’t support your choices.
You will learn to deal with quick-fix problems and properly ask for support when it is getting tough.
