The author is a seventy four year old retired trial lawyer who was raised on the Texas Gulf Coast and in the Texas Hill Country. With the exception of the four years he spent in college at the University of Virginia and a stint with the United States Marine Corps, he has spent over seventy years fishing and hunting with family members and friends in the wonderful State of Texas. His book is a compilation of short vignettes that recount his fishing and hunting adventures from age three until age seventy four. A reader will wander through his wonderful adventures inherent in fishing for bass, perch and catfish as a three year old in the Texas Hill Country, to hunting for the magnificent wild turkey and quail in South Texas, to fishing the surf for speckled trout and redfish off Galveston Island, to duck and goose hunting in the rice fields west of Houston, and to crabbing at the Texas City Dike. These were wonderful trips enjoyed by the author, which spawned enduring friendships with other men and women who share his love for the outdoors. The author hopes that his stories will rekindle his readers' memories of outdoor adventures they may have enjoyed in years gone by. Of solid strikes, tight lines, cupped wings, and the red embers of smoldering mesquite campfires long ago expired.
