Sinopsis
May 2017 and a newly retired former US expat David Paine decides to treat his family to a return visit to the California they left 20 years ago. The only one prepared to join him is his exasperating autistic son Jude ---and only on condition they spend much of their time with his father’s two very conservative American step sisters.
This is Trump’s America, a place very different than the country they left.
David tries to interview everyone they meet to find out why this has happened, Jude wants only to become part of what he thinks of as his American family, have fun, and go shopping. The two unlikely travellers visit the suburbs of Los Angeles, the mountains and deserts of California and Arizona, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and the beaches along the Pacific Coast.
