Grotesque Tales II: Exile - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

This second book of the bilingual edition of the Cuentos Grotescos by José Rafael Pocaterra contains three stories.

Loneliness (Soledad) relates the courtship between a young city man, appointed to an administrative position in a rural town, and village girl Soledad. Under the watchful eye of her aunt, their love takes its course. Meanwhile, who is watching the aunt?

One after the other, the owners of Perez, Ospino & Co. pass away under the strangest of circumstances… what could be happening inside this successful venture?

During her holidays, Cecé stages her very own countryside romance on her family’s estate. Can José la O, wild servant boy, fulfil his part in her fantasy? With High hanging fruits (Las frutas muy altas), Pocaterra takes pastoral romance to the reality of Venezuela in the early 20th century.
