Sinopsis

***FOR HIGH-BEGINNER TO LOW-INTERMEDIATE LEARNERS***

“I love Olly’s work - and you will too!” - Barbara Oakley, PhD, Author of New York Times bestseller A Mind for Numbers

Most French students try to learn French through memorisation, especially when it comes to learning new vocabulary or the all-important conversational connectors (and, or, however, therefore, for example etc). This doesn't work, and is extremely stressful for you as a learner. Why? Because there is so much vocabulary to learn and it's impossible to hold it all in your head while you're speaking. It's also not a natural approach ... native speakers don't learn new words with memory tricks, after all!

With 30-Day Mastery: Conversational Connectors you'll learn through example and context, just like native speakers do! The magic of learning through story is that your main focus is actually not on memorising anything... you concentrate on understanding and enjoying the story! As you're reading the story, you will find that all of the conversational connectors in the text will begin to lodge themselves subconsciously in your brain. It doesn't happen right away - in fact it may take a couple of weeks for you to feel the real effects. But by the end of this book, you'll have a native-like command of French conversational connectors that will amaze you and your friends!

In this story, you will read all about Jack Martin, a retired police investigator in Paris, who is called back to solve a string of murders in Auvergne. The prefect, an old friend of Jack’s, suspects that a serial killer has been operating in the area.

Despite some initial misgivings, and flanked by his friend George, Jack decides to help with the investigation. However, he may have bitten off more than he can chew, as a simple murder investigation evolves into something more.

Not yet convinced? Here are all the features you will find in this book:

• Short chapters of 300 words each - just read one chapter a day for 30 days!
• A text designed specifically for students at CEFR level A2-B1
• A detailed language overview and table of connectors so you can quickly review and remember the vocabulary in the story
• Short daily practice exercises to practice French connectors as you go
• Bilingual word lists to quickly look up new vocabulary
