Sinopsis

The industrial past. Stories of real people. Arts and culture. History and contemporary life. Merseyside provides almost an embarrassment of riches enough to inspire any poet! I sought for these poetic tales to do justice to the uniqueness of Merseyside and all the while during the writing of this collection my sense of humour was never too far away (I think it must be imprinted within the DNA of the region!)

I came to appreciate and genuinely love Merseyside as I wrote this collection during the Covid-19 lockdown of spring 2020. Inspired by places I had visited over the years and tales of people I encountered along the way. Some of these are people I actually met; others are those who left their mark on history now brought to life once more through the power of words.
