Ink is not a typical part of modern writing, but the idea evokes a warm sense of history – all the way back to the ancient Egyptians using hollow reeds with berry ink. Ink sounds romantic, but it made editing difficult – and editing is the key to great writing. The revolution of easy word processing with computers has made editing so much more accessible. In addition the ability to meet other poets online in places like Allpoetry.com has made it easier to find a community of like-minded individuals and get the critical feedback they need to improve.
