BOOK ONE - CONCEPTION

In the middle of the Nevada desert, underground tribes fight each other for their own supremacy and survival, unaware of the world above or the nature of that world’s threat. On the other side of the country, a young video game programmer gets into trouble with the law and is sent out-of-state by his negligent father. Meanwhile, in the shadows, powerful figures make a grave decision that will change everybody's lives forever.
