The elusive phenomenon of Consciousness has been a concern of humanity for centuries. The multiple philosophical views have not achieved a convincing theory that manages to explain its phenomenology, both from dualistic to monistic interpretations. Quantum physics has been presented as a promising alternative, although it has not yet achieved a convincing interpretation, and the old mind-body dilemma is still there waiting to be conquered. Gonzalo Munita, is a doctor and novelist who in his literary works has frequently expressed his concern about this particular phenomenon. His interest in the subject has led him to decide to capture his thoughts, not in the tangential way as expressed in his novels, but directly, in a work entirely dedicated to the phenomenology of consciousness. In this monograph, he shows us a forgotten facet that may be key to advancing his elucidation: The curious peculiarities of the now. We feel comfortable and do not notice anything special when living in the present time, that is, what is happening at this very moment. But, when we analyze it in depth, we realize that there is something exceptional and paradoxical about it and that it can be key to understanding the phenomenon of consciousness.
