Sinopsis

This book was written to share the rich story and history of George Jones First Guitar and in particular the journey behind the rediscovery and authentication of this historical special Gene Autry Cowboy Guitar. The tale of the rediscovery of this valuable piece of music history is as engrossing as the tales and stories of the real life of George Jones.
The journey of authenticating George Jones First Guitar covers over ten thousand miles of travel and seven states tracking down anyone who has come in contact with this special guitar. And in fact George himself actually held his first guitar again, in Branson, MO at the Mansion Theatre, just months before he passed. The tale of rediscovery and authentication deserves to be told as this Harmony guitar is probably as historically famous as its original owner “Possum Jones.
The story behind the Gene Autry Cowboy guitar follows in the footsteps of the world’s greatest country singer throughout his decades in the country music industry.
