Astronomy is a very powerful science, accessible by many, understood by a few. There is evidence to suggest that individuals who have claimed no interest in this powerful science are actually fascinated by the stars and what may be 'out there. I have not come across any formal research that suggests the attraction of astronomy, but this unique attribute may be because it attempts to answer the big questions: the origin of life and the origin of the universe.
Numbers play a central role in our lives. Numbers and number expressions arise early both in hue-man history and in the individual development of us as hue-mans. Numerical notations existed long before the invention of script, and archaeological evidence suggests that at least 30,000 years ago our ancestors used notches as primitive representations for collections of things. In our everyday life, we use numbers in a wide range of different contexts. Numbers also play a role in the spiritual context of many cultures.
Mathematics is defined as the systematic study of nature using symbols to obtain solutions through rigorous deductive reasoning. Meta-mathematics uses mathematics to look beyond mathematics or the thought process.
