Having not touched a ZX Spectrum in 34 years, I suddenly got the urge to load up and play some of the games I'd not thought about for at least that long. Then, I thought, why not revisit every single game I played, in the order I played them in and record my thoughts? Well, here are those very thoughts. A journey through every ZX Spectrum game I had the pleasure/horror of spending at least a few minutes of my life engaged with. Come with me as I spend an entire weekend enjoying (or otherwise) the splendour of 'Target: Renegade', 'Skool Daze', 'Football Manager' and 'Head over Heels'. Join me (so I can use you as a kind of support mechanism) as I also step back into the nightmarish dark back-alleys of my memories by loading up 'Dragon's Lair', 'Renegade III' and 'Brian Jacks' Superstar Challenge'.
There's laughter at how bad some of the games were, tears of nostalgia, unbridled joy at games like 'Chaos' and 'Laser Squad', confusion as to how some software companies managed to get us to part with the best part of a tenner for games such as 'Supergran' and sheer bewilderment at how some managed to cram so much into just 48k's.
Come with me now as I lead you down a street where the house numbers are 1k, 16k, 48k and 128k. It is of course, memory lane. Join and marvel with me at the cornerstone of our childhoods and beyond - the ZX Spectrum, it all it's magnificent rubber keyed glory (and colour clash).
