Sinopsis

Me and Ma (my) Goddess, also known as ‘Mema and the Goddess,’ portrays a girl’s life falling apart and how she draws from her inner strength to fix it. The faith she demonstrated in her strength not to give up but to keep pushing instead, even with her last breath, made her rediscover how great a lioness she was. One might wonder why most who succeed in life get off to a bad start and pass through many heart-breaking struggles before they arrive. The answer is that “only the test of fire makes a fine steel.” At times, we often have to go through challenging situations to evolve into the best versions of ourselves. So, despite her pains, struggles, heart breaks, and setbacks, she succeeded and later became a symbol of HOPE to her people.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lamin I. Bangura commonly known as (Bas) is a born of Nongowa chiefdom, Kenema District. He did his primary school at St Pauls Primary School Kenema and Juba Army Municipal School, and his Secondary School at The Government Secondary School Bo (Bo-School). He later went to the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) University of Sierra Leone (USL) and graduated with B.Sc. Hons in Applied Accounting. During his time at IPAM, in 2010, he led a team that represented their college at the Fourth National Moot Court Competition organised by ICRC and won. Later that year, they represented their country at the 10th Pan African Moot Court Challenge at Arusha – Tanzania.
He has been involved in so many youth empowerment projects. He has had the opportunity to work with institutions like Standard Chartered Bank, Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, World Food Programme (WFP), The Learning Foundation, Medecins Sans Frontieres – Belgium, and currently with the Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
