Sinopsis

The worst scenario that a doctor can give parents is the news that my husband Isaias and I received at six weeks of pregnancy. The doctor told us that my pregnancy had to be ended because it was an ectopic pregnancy. At that moment our lives seemingly died in the devastation of hearing that news. We went home and cried in prayer for a week. Then we went for a second opinion at the University of Iowa, one of the best hospitals in the United States. It was there that the first miracle happened when the doctor told us that the pregnancy was not ectopic pregnancy and we could have our daughter. However, the doctor also said I was at risk of dying in childbirth. We were so happy with the news that we told him we did want to have our baby! With that decision emphatically and unanimously made, we learned that this trip would be the beginning of many trips to Iowa City and the hospital that were needed to monitor and care for me and our baby the whole pregnancy. As we took our first trips to The University of Iowa Hospital, which is almost two hours from home, the doctors insisted on terminating the pregnancy. But we did not accept that suggestion at any time. We preferred to cling to faith in a God who works miracles and whose arm has not been cut off (Isaiah 59:1). In preparation for God’s will to be done, I wrote goodbye letters, wills, made videos for my daughters to remember me, forgave people, and asked for forgiveness. I even wrote this testimony three weeks before giving birth and before knowing whether or not I would be embracing my miracle. It was a nightmare to think that I would leave this earth at the age of 38 and not see my daughters grow up, especially my oldest daughter for many reasons. During this process I have learned to believe, trust, and have faith. I have found a lot of meaning in life, church, family and work. Thanks to the prayers of our brothers and sisters in Christ, today we are here and we lift the miracle high! We see our dreams come true in our third daughter named FAITH because she will remind us of the miracle every new day. God heard our cry and He will hear yours (Psalm 34:15, 17). Believe Him!
