This study guide is designed for anyone interested in learning how to approach recovery differently. Whether you are personally navigating your own recovery journey or supporting someone else through theirs, recovery is for everyone and all are welcome to participate in these transformative discussions.
Traditional recovery programming often prove to be ineffective, with eighty percent of people “failing out” in year one. Even when incorporating Jesus as a Higher Power, the success rates do not significantly improve. The church is uniquely suited to change the narrative around recovery and help people heal from trauma in the gentle way of Jesus.
Over the course of 10 intensive group sessions, you will be invited to challenge your assumptions about recovery from addiction, mental health issues, and suicidal thoughts. Through various prompts, you will be encouraged to shift your perspective on recovery and ask God how to build an authentic and effective recovery culture in your communities.
