The Post-Modern Prometheus (Paperback)

Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The Post-Modern Prometheus by Margaret Schedler is a play about Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein. This play written in three Acts follows the young Mary Shelley after the death of her mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, as she navigates her new fascination with science, monsters, and boys. It is up to Mary's mentor and her infamous monster to help Mary confront her past and to help her grow into the famous author she is known as today. This coming-of-age, feminist adaptation of Frankenstein and its author brings forth a new perspective on maidenhood, mortality, trauma, and religion. The Monty-Python-esc humor makes this play perfect for hilarious high school and college level productions. This is an ensemble piece that requires at least 10 actors. It is written as a dramatic-comedy that can be performed with a small cast and repeating roles. The focus of the play is on the message: the real Mary Shelley. The Post-Modern Prometheus tells the trauma of Mary Shelley's life but in a way that is digestible and approachable for a younger cast. The themes are relatable for a wide assortment of audiences and will always be a crowd-pleaser. This item is printed on demand.
