Quazi Mohammed Habibus Sakalayen serves as an academic at the UBD School of Business and Economics, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). Dr. Quazi brings a unique blend of academia, industry, consultancy, and government services. Prior to joining UBD, he served in institutions such as Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; the Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania, Australia; and in various capacities within the Bangladesh Civil Service. He holds a Ph.D. in Maritime Transportation and Logistics Management from the Australian Maritime College (AMC), University of Tasmania, specializing in mixed methods research in transportation, logistics, ports, shipping, and regional development studies. Driven by a commitment to smarter, cleaner, and sustainable practices, his current research interests focus on advancing these concepts in sustainable manufacturing logistics, circular supply chain, disruptive technologies, ports, shipping, and supply chain management. Dr. Quazi holds master's degrees in Shipping Management from the World Maritime University, Sweden, and in Physics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has a notable publication record in esteemed international journals such as Transport Policy, Research in Transportation Business & Management, Maritime Business Review, Maritime Policy and Management, International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics, Marine Policy, and International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction. Dr. Quazi also serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Engineering Materials and Manufacture.
Mohammad Nabil Almunawar is currently an associate professor at the School of Business and Economics, Universiti of Brunei Darussalam (UBDSBE), Brunei Darussalam. He was the former dean of UBDSBE. He received his bachelor's degree in 1983 from Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia, master's degree (MSc) from the Department of Computer Science, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada in 1991, and PhD in Computer Science/Information Systems from the University of New South Wales in 1998. Dr. Almunawar has published more than 200 papers in refereed journals, books, book chapters, and encyclopedias. He has more than 30 years of teaching experience in information systems and e-business/e-commerce. He was editors of many books. He is currently Editor-in-chief of International Journal of E-Business Research (IJEBR) (Index in Scopus and WoS) and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Business and Economic Analysis. His overall research interests include applications of IT in management, e-business/commerce, digital transformation, digital marketplace/platform, digital business ecosystem, health informatics, information security, and cloud computing. Currently, he focuses his research on digital transformation, digital marketplace platforms, and digital business ecosystems.
Mohammad Yeakub Ali is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Brunei. Formerly a Professor in the Department of Manufacturing and Materials Engineering at the International Islamic University Malaysia, Dr. Ali holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, a Masters in Manufacturing Systems from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Ali has authored over 250 journals and conference proceedings. His research focuses on advanced manufacturing systems, optimization, scheduling, advanced machining, and micromachining. Notably, he has supervised 30 master’s and Ph.D. students in the field of advanced manufacturing. Dr. Ali has played a pivotal role as a Conference Chair for the International Conference on Advances in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering since 2012. A Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council UK, a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia, and a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and Bangladesh Professional Engineers Registration Board, Dr. Ali is an active member of professional societies including ASME, IEOM, and IEM. Additionally, he is the founder editor of the International Journal of Engineering Materials and Manufacture.
